Green Space

There is no denying the incredible beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Our family has had the pleasure of enjoying ranch life at Honey Creek for the past three decades. While providing an opportunity for a new generation of residents to enjoy Honey Creek, we wanted to keep some space available for residents to feel the openness of ranch life. We've done just that in our plan.

How much open space will be available to the residents?

The current plan calls for the dedication of 84 acres of permanent green space within the heart of the development. In addition, extensive open spaces will be designed to follow the natural contours of the land, with these areas being maintained in their current, natural condition.

Will you be cutting down all the trees?

No! Extensive survey efforts have been undertaken to determine the location, size, and species of the over 20,000 trees that are located on the property. Plans call for the preservation of the most desirable and mature trees (such as Heritage Oaks) while giving a lower priority to the impact on non-native species such as Mountain Cedar. We will work closely with the City of Bulverde to recognize that the natural beauty of this property is largely attributed to the trees, and every effort will be made to preserve this precious resource.

What's this new development going to do to the environment?

Extensive efforts have been undertaken to ensure that the development cannot harm Honey Creek or the cave and Karst system. We have worked in lockstep with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as well as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Engineering and scientific studies have been undertaken to ensure compliance with the TCEQ’s strict standards. With respect to the purity level of water coming from the wastewater recycling plan, our design will produce water that is significantly purer than what is required by the TCEQ.
